Michal graduated from the Hospitality (Hotel) School in Opava, Czech Republic. He spent a year learning the art of cooking of French and Italian cuisines at the Hotel School in Brixen in Northern Italy.

After his career at The Smollensky's in London, UK, he decided to deepen his skills at the Savoy, a five-star hotel in Prague, where the preparation of selected Czech and international delicatessens for the hotel guests was his specialty. Confectionery is among his favorites, and he was able to master this art under the leadership of Mirka Slavik, a French confectionery teacher.

In 2006 he creates a trade mark Ola Kala® and founds an Ola Kala Ltd. Company. It provides stylis cooking classes, food styling services and gastronomic counseling. He personaly teaches cooking, preapars food for shooting and manages the company. Since 2012 he runs a restaurant under the same trade mark Ola Kala Bistro.
